Beijing says most higher-level outpatient visits now benefit from shared records and recognized test results
An official Beijing government work report published on February 15 says electronic medical-record sharing and mutual recognition of test and examination results now cover 97 percent of outpatient visits at Grade II and above medical institutions, while referrals from primary care rose 90 percent.
Beijing's 2025 work review, released on February 15, says more than half of outpatient appointment slots at Grade III public hospitals were made available to primary-level facilities two weeks in advance. The same report says patient referrals increased by 90 percent.
For visiting patients, the most relevant line is that electronic medical-record sharing and mutual recognition of laboratory and examination results now cover 97 percent of outpatient visits at Grade II and above medical institutions. That can reduce duplicate paperwork and repeat testing when patients move between facilities inside the city.
This is a citywide access and coordination update, not a promise that every hospital, department or physician will accept outside documents without review. Patients should still confirm directly with the licensed institution which reports can be used, whether translations are needed, and how referral or registration steps work for their case.
