Guangzhou adds another East Africa air option with a planned Addis Ababa route
A Guangzhou government update dated August 19 says China Southern plans to launch a Guangzhou-Changsha-Addis Ababa service in October, adding another formal air link that may simplify trip planning for patients and accompanying families traveling between southern China and East Africa.
The Foreign Affairs Office of Guangzhou Municipal Government reported on August 19 that China Southern Airlines plans to start a Guangzhou-Changsha-Addis Ababa route on October 12. The official article says the service will run twice weekly and will become the airline's first scheduled route to Ethiopia.
For international patient logistics, this is relevant as a connectivity development rather than a healthcare announcement. Additional scheduled capacity between Guangzhou and a major East African aviation hub can improve itinerary choices for consultation trips, follow-up visits, or companion travel when southern China is the intended entry point.
