Patient Q&A: Does a holiday medical-insurance counter help with hospital payment in Shanghai?

Shanghai's holiday notice covered selected non-cash administrative services, not a universal hospital-billing solution.

Shanghai's municipal government said that district medical-insurance centers would provide selected non-cash services on September 26 during the Mid-Autumn holiday period, while some district centers had no holiday duty. The notice links to the official list of agency addresses.

A service counter is not automatically able to solve a hospital bill, foreign-insurance question or clinical issue. Before going, confirm the counter's current scope, hours, document requirements and language support. For appointments, deposits, invoices or payment methods at a hospital, contact that hospital directly; eligibility and coverage must be confirmed by the relevant authorities or insurer.
